JSMM seeks global support for Sindhi self-determination and human rights

In a bold move, Jai Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) President Shafi Burat has formally presented the case for the independence of Sindh, also known as Sindhudesh, before the foreign ministers of 119 countries. The letter, sent via email, outlines the political, economic and cultural grievances of the Sindhi people under the rule of Pakistan, which it condemns as an “irresponsible” and “fascist” state.

The statement begins with an appeal to the global community, drawing attention to the ongoing oppression and human rights abuses of the Sindhi people under Pakistan’s rule. Burat claims that Sindh, a region with ancient cultural heritage of the Indus Valley Civilization, is suffering from “forcible occupation and enslavement” by Pakistan, a state it has described as an “evil” entity within its borders and abroad. Sponsors terrorism and extremism in India. ,

The document cites Pakistan’s support for extremist groups such as the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad and al-Qaeda, noting that these groups are destabilizing the region and contributing to global terrorism. contributing to. Burat highlights the systemic violence perpetrated by Pakistan’s military and intelligence services, accusing them of enforced disappearances, torture and extrajudicial executions of political activists from Sindh and other marginalized areas.

The letter also raises serious concerns about the activities of the Pakistani military in Sindh, particularly its alleged involvement in storing nuclear weapons in the area. Local reports suggest that the army is building tunnels in the mountainous areas of Sindh to hide nuclear materials or hazardous waste, posing a serious threat to both the human population and the environment.

Burat also warned of ongoing cultural genocide in Sindh, where the Pakistani state is reportedly funding the construction of more than 35,000 Islamic madrassas aimed at inculcating Sindhi children into extremist ideologies. The letter outlines the alarming scale of religious indoctrination being imposed on the Sindhi population, which Burat argues is an attempt to erase the rich secular and democratic traditions of the region.

In addition to human rights concerns, Burat highlights the economic exploitation of Sindh, particularly the controversial China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The Sindhi nation condemns the project, which it argues is a form of economic imperialism, as it further strengthens Pakistan’s control over the resources of Sindh and Balochistan. Burat appealed to the international community to investigate why the Pakistani state is going ahead with these projects without the consent of the people of Sindh and Balochistan despite widespread protests and opposition.

Burat concluded the letter by demanding international recognition of Sindh’s right to self-determination. he/she called on the United Nations and global powers including the US, Britain, Germany and France to take action to stop Pakistan’s support for terrorism, exploitation of Sindh’s natural resources and ongoing repression of the Sindhi people.
