Jammu Kashmir News: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Jammu and Kashmir Police Srinagar has presented charge sheet against 13 accused including 3 active terrorists before NIA Court, Srinagar. The case pertains to targeted killings in Srinagar. TRF terrorists were involved in this. The J&K Police has said that the process of attaching four (4) houses which are giving shelter to terrorists has also started.
As per details, case under Section 7/25 of Arms Act and Section 13,18, 19, 20, 38, 39 of UAP Act has been registered in FIR No. 127/2022 at Police Station Parimpora on 28 May 2022 for TRF terrorists ( off-shoot).
6 accused arrested after investigation
After investigation, J&K Police initially arrested six accused persons in the case and later one more accused (active terrorist) Shariq Wani was arrested. All the seven accused are lodged in different jails under judicial custody. Three accused active terrorists in the case were killed in separate encounters while three other accused are absconding as active terrorists of TRF. The active terrorists have been identified as Basit, Momin and Umais.
Association of accused persons with active terrorists
Investigation has revealed that the accused persons had developed links with active terrorists and in order to hatch a criminal conspiracy, they collectively conspired with the terrorists to carry out terrorist activities in District Srinagar. It would be appropriate to mention here that at that time the terrorists were taking shelter in residential houses. The process to attach all these houses under Section 25 of the UAPA Act has started.
Today, the charge sheet of the case has been submitted before the Court of Special Judge designated under NIA Act (TADA/POTA), Srinagar and further investigation under the provisions of section 173(8) is underway.
