Jammu and Kashmir: The people of Reasi gave a befitting reply to the terrorist attack by casting record votes

New Delhi : The second phase of voting for the three-phase elections for 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir also concluded peacefully on Wednesday. However, by 7 pm, it was much less than 60 percent, reaching 54.11 percent. But this figure of voting is said to be more than the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the second phase, the highest 71.81 percent voting for 26 seats in six districts took place in Reasi district where terrorists attacked a bus of pilgrims on June 9. The lowest 27.37 votes were cast in eight seats of Srinagar district.

Record voting in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi seat

The Election Commission said that apart from districts, if we look at the voting in the assembly seats, then out of 26 assembly seats, the highest number of votes were cast on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi seat of Reasi district, with a record 75.29 per cent. While the lowest number of votes, 15.80 per cent, were cast on the Habbakadal seat of Srinagar district. However, the commission says that even though Srinagar district had the lowest voting, this voting was also more than the assembly elections held in 2014, which is a record. Otherwise, earlier in this district, people usually boycotted voting in many areas or were threatened not to vote. However, nothing like this happened this time.
