Jaiswal, Pant-Parag did not get place in T20 team, Shami returns, what is Team India’s plan?

India T20 team announced: India has announced its team for the T20 series against England. Mohammed Shami has returned to the team. Shami has been out of the team for almost 400 days.

New Delhi. India has announced its team for the T20 series against England. Like last time, the team will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav. Akshar Patel has been made vice captain. But the bigger news is that Mohammed Shami has returned to the team. Shami is out of the team since 19 November 2023 due to injury.

The T20 series between India and England is to be played from January 22. After this series, there will also be an ODI series in February. The Indian Cricket Board has announced only the T20 team on Saturday. The ODI team will be announced later. Many changes have been made in the T20 team as expected. Five players included in the team that India fielded against South Africa in November last year will not be there against England.

Ramandeep Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Avesh Khan, Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vishak, who were included in the team during the South Africa tour, have not got a place in the T20 team this time. In their place, Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar have returned. The reason for this can also be easily understood. Dhruv Jurel, Nitish, Harshit and Sundar were not included in the T20 team because all of them were going to Australia with the Test team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is in excellent form, could also have been selected in the T20 team. One reason for Yashasvi not being selected is that he/she is now being considered for a place in the ODI team. India has to play the Champions Trophy after playing the ODI series with England. That is why he/she has been given rest. The same thing applies to Rishabh Pant. Riyan Parag is recovering from injury. That’s why he/she has not been able to make a place in the team.
