On this the anchor says that he/she does not understand whether Abhishek Nair and Ryan ten Doeschate are assistant coaches or batting coaches… On this Gavaskar smiles and says that but Gautam Gambhir has scored more runs than both of them in Test cricket. So Gautam Gambhir should teach all of them how batting should be done and what kind of approach. If we show what kind of restraint then perhaps our performance can be good.

After this statement given by Sunil Gavaskar about the Indian coaching staff, Gautam Gambhir’s figures went viral on social media. Gautam has played 58 matches in his/her Test career and has scored 4154 runs at an average of 41.95. But these are his/her overall figures. If we look at Gambhir’s performance in Australia, it is very pathetic.

Gambhir scored 181 runs in 4 matches
Gautam Gambhir played 4 test matches on the Australia tour in 2011-12. he/she scored 181 runs in 8 innings of these matches at an average of 22.62. Gambhir was able to cross the 50-run mark only once in this series. his/her best score was 83 runs. That means in the remaining 7 innings only 98 runs came from his/her bat.

Nair and Ryan never played a test match
As far as India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nair is concerned, he/she has played only 3 One Day International matches. he/she has never played a test match. Ryan ten Doeschate of Netherlands has played 33 ODI and 24 T20 International matches. Netherlands does not have the status of a test playing team. For this reason Ryan has never played a test match.
