It is Kohli’s complete fault…Irfan Pathan and Sanjay Manjrekar clashed over Yashasvi’s run out.

New Delhi. The Boxing Day Test being played in Melbourne between India and Australia remains in controversy. Virat Kohli came into limelight due to his/her clash with Australian opener Sam Costance in the first day’s play, while the run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal is making headlines. Virat Kohli did not run to score runs and Indian legends expressed their different opinions regarding this. Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan clashed with each other over this. However, this matter was limited to mere talk.

The Indian team was looking good in the last session of the second day while chasing against the 474 runs scored by Australia in the first innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was batting on 82 runs, ran after hitting the last ball of the 41st over and reached non-strike but Virat Kohli did not run. he/she indicated by gesture that he/she did not hear Yashasvi’s call.

Sanjay Manjrekar clashed with Irfan Pathan
Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar chided Virat Kohli for not running. he/she said, if a batsman is standing on non-strike and the ball has gone behind you, then you have to run only on the call of the batsman in front. Virat should have run because he/she does not come to the throwing end. Virat Kohli looked back and then refused to run. It is not right to do this at all.

Irfan Pathan justified Virat’s move while talking about the run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal after the end of the second day’s play. he/she said, if Virat Kohli does not want to take runs then he/she cannot run. The decision to take runs is not taken by the striking batsman alone. The batsman standing on non-strike can also decide whether to take a run or not.

When Irfan Pathan was speaking, Sanjay Manjrekar seemed to disagree with him/her and kept interrupting. When Irfan continued speaking even after repeated interruptions, Sanjay got angry and said that if I am not allowed to speak then it is okay, I will remain silent. On this Irfan said no, we both are speaking and will express our views. Sanjay got very angry at Irfan’s suggestion and said that now the lesson on taking runs in the coaching book should be changed due to his/her suggestion.
