New Delhi : America has reacted to the allegations made by BJP. US Embassy spokesperson says that it is disappointing that India’s ruling party is making such allegations. BJP had alleged that the US State Department has always been behind running the anti-India agenda and the agenda against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The matter was raised in the Lok Sabha

On Thursday, BJP MP raised this issue in Lok Sabha and BJP also held a press conference regarding it. BJP alleged that Congress is plotting against India with the help of George Soros. BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sudhanshu Trivedi said that OCCRP, which is being run with Soros’ funds, spreads misinformation against India.
Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh… now is the biggest test of Indian diplomacy.
Accused of Congress’s complicity in this. BJP also made these allegations through its official handle on social media. It was said that OCCRP has connections with Rahul Gandhi. Also said that the control of OCCRP is with the US government.

BJP’s question on Congress issues

It wrote that all the issues on which Congress has targeted BJP in the last four years are based on foreign narratives and sources. BJP said issues like Pegasus, Adani, caste census, ‘democracy under threat’, Global Hunger Index, religious freedom and press freedom – all seem to be largely inspired by international sources.

The BJP alleged that during 2021-2022, OCCRP published several articles on Pegasus spyware, which were released in a timely manner just before the commencement of the Indian Parliament session. The main objective of these articles was to target the Modi government.

The US State Department had shown its hand

Congress used these materials to disrupt Parliament and attack the government. BJP wrote that from 2023 till now, OCCRP has published about 5-7 articles on Adani Group, which seems to be targeting it again and again. BJP alleged that the US State Department has always been behind this agenda. Citing a French media report, OCCRP is funded by USAID, a US State Department agency, and other ‘deep state’ figures such as George Soros and the Rockefeller Foundation.

Called the allegation disappointing

A statement was issued by the spokesperson of the US Embassy saying that it is disappointing that the ruling party of India is making such allegations. The statement said the US government works with independent organizations on programs that provide training for professional development and capacity building of journalists. This program does not influence the editorial decisions or direction of these organizations.
