ISRO launches satellites with LVM3 rocket
ISRO has launched 36 UK satellites simultaneously. The total weight of all the satellites being sent into space is 5805 kg. This mission has been named OneWeb India-2. This launching took place from the spaceport of Satish Dhawan Space Center Sriharikota. ISRO’s 43.5 meter long LVM3 rocket has been used in this. This launch pad has done five successful launches so far including Chandrayaan-2 mission and today is its sixth flight.
Space based broadband internet service will help
Explain that this is the second mission of ISRO’s commercial unit NewSpace India Limited NSIL for OneWeb. OneWeb is a UK-based communications company owned by the British government, India’s Bharti Enterprises, France’s Eutelsat, Japan’s SoftBank, America’s Hughes Networks and South Korean defense company Hanwha. It is a communication company providing satellite based service. Today’s successful launch will aid plans to provide space-based broadband internet service to every corner of the globe.
The first batch of OneWeb was launched in 2022
LVM3-M3 is ISRO’s heavy lift rocket. OneWeb now has 582 satellites in orbit. Their total number is expected to go up to 618 on March 26. The company had said that by completing the group, OneWeb is taking an important step towards providing global coverage including India. This launch is the 18th launch for OneWeb. The first batch of 36 satellites was launched on October 23, 2022, from the Sriharikota rocket port in Andhra Pradesh with the LVM3 rocket, formerly known as Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk3 (GSLV Mk3).
Agreement with ISRO to launch 72 satellites
Britain’s Network Access Associates Limited (OneWeb Group Company) has entered into an agreement with NewSpace India Limited, the commercial arm of ISRO, to launch 72 satellites into low Earth orbit. OneWeb chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal had said last October that ISRO’s commercial arm, NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), had signed a contract with OneWeb to launch 72 satellites in two phases for a launch fee of over Rs 1,000 crore. have signed.
