Israel Defense Forces arrest terrorist in Syria

Israeli forces entered Syria to arrest a terrorist working with Iranian agents, the Israel Defense Forces revealed on Sunday evening.

Soldiers from the elite Agoz commando unit arrested Ali Suleiman al-Adi, a Syrian national living in the southern city of Saida. According to the IDF, al-Addi collected intelligence on Israeli forces along the border for future terrorist activity. The IDF said al-Adwas is under surveillance and is now in Israel for questioning.

“The IDF will continue to work to secure the borders and will not allow the establishment of an Iranian axis and hostile subversive activity directed from southern Syria,” the military said.

The IDF also released footage of al-Addi telling interrogators how he/she was recruited by Iran.

“We were sitting together on the fence. [he/she] In this way he/she looked around and said, ‘Your area is good from strategic point of view. We can benefit from this,” Al-Adi said.

The Iranian agent disguised himself as a Syrian military intelligence officer who was interested in the activities of the Israeli border patrol.

“he/she said he/she was from military intelligence, but in reality, Iran was behind him/her. As far as I understand he/she is from Iran,” al-Adi said.

In recent days, Iranian officials have stepped up their rhetoric about the attack after the Israeli Air Force attacked military targets and air defense systems on October 26.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday, “The enemies, both America and the Zionist regime (Israel), should know that they will definitely get a strong response for what they are doing against Iran and the Resistance Front.”

Middle East media reports suggest Iran’s next attack could take place before the US elections on Tuesday, and would involve Tehran’s proxy terrorist groups in Iraq and Yemen.

The IDF’s announcement comes amid a visit by US Central Command General Michael “Eric” Kurila for talks with Israeli military leaders and the US deployment of B-52 Stratofortress bombers to the Middle East.
