ISIS leader killed in Iraq, Trump says, “The fugitive leader continuously hunted”

The Iraqi Prime Minister said that the National Intelligence Service personnel of the country had killed the head of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, working with the coalition forces commanded by the United States, as CNN described the AP.

Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani said in a statement posted on X, “Iraqis continued their impressive victory over the forces of dark and terrorism.”

Abdullah Maki Mosleh al-Rifi, or “Abu Khadija”, the “Deputy Ciphyf” of the terrorist group and “Iraq and one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world were said in” statement, as CNN said.

On his/her true social stage on Friday night, US President Donald Trump said, “The fugitive leader of ISIS was killed in Iraq today. he/she was constantly hunted by our fearless war in coordination with the Iraqi government and the Kurdish regional government.

“Peace through strength!” Trump said.

According to a CNN report, a security officer said the operation was executed by an airstrike in Western Iraqi province of Anbar. According to another official, Al-Rifi’s death was verified on Friday, but the operation took place on Thursday night. he/she was not allowed to make public comments, so he/she spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The announcement came on the same day when the first visit by Syrian’s top diplomat in Iraq, during which the two countries promised to work together to compete.

According to the report, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fauud Hussain said in a news conference that “Syrian and Iraqi society have general challenges, and are particularly IS terrorists.” he/she said that the authorities had “talked about ISIS movements in detail, whether on the Syrian-Iraqi border, inside Syria or inside Iraq” during the journey.

Hussain mentioned an operational room formed by Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon, recently to face a meeting in Amman and said it would start working soon.

The relationship between Iraq and Syria is somewhat frightening after the fall of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Al-Sudani came to power with the support of the coalition of Iran-backed factions, and Tehran was a prominent supporter of Assad.

The current interim president of Syria, Ahmed al-Shara, was earlier allegedly allegedly known as Abu Mohammad al-Golani and fought as an al-Qaeda terrorist in Iraq after the 2003 US invasion and later fought against Asad’s government in Syria.

The US and Iraq had announced an agreement to fly a military mission in Iraq of an American -led coalition, fighting the Islamic State Group by September 2025 last year, in which American forces left some of the bases, where they have deployed troops during a long military presence in the country for two decades.

Iraqi political officials announced that after agreeing to end the mission of the alliance in Iraq, they do not require help from Washington to defeat residual cells, who were still working and no longer needed help from Washington.

But Asad’s collapse in December inspired some people to assure, including members of the coordination structure, mainly Shia, a coalition of Iran-Alide political parties, which brought the current Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to power at the end of 2022.
