Ishan Kishan’s return to T20 is difficult, 29-year-old wicketkeeper is ahead in the race

New Delhi. Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who is out of the Indian cricket team, also seems difficult to return to the T20 team. India has to play a three-match series at home against Bangladesh. Sanju Samson will be the number 1 wicketkeeper while Jitesh Sharma can make a place as the second wicketkeeper in the series starting from October 6 in Gwalior. This player can beat Ishan Kishan for the second wicketkeeper’s position in the Indian T20 team led by Suryakumar Yadav.

The squad is expected to be announced this week. The second T20I will be played on October 9 in New Delhi and the third T20I on October 12 in Hyderabad. While Rishabh Pant is focused on playing 10 Tests this season, 29-year-old Sanju Samson will be India’s number one wicketkeeper in the shortest format of the game for now, Vidarbha’s Jitesh is believed to be in the race ahead of Kishan for the second wicketkeeper’s spot.

Kishan’s selection in the Rest of India team also means that his/her return to international cricket may be delayed a bit. With the Test series against New Zealand starting in Bengaluru from October 16, top players like Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be rested under the workload management program.

Some players will not be able to play in this match as they will be part of the Irani Cup to be held between Rest of India and Mumbai in Lucknow from October 1 to 5. Many players who played in the five-match T20 series in Zimbabwe in July this year will get a chance.
