Anvesh, a 2013 batch IRS officer in the Indian Revenue Service, has always been inspired by stories related to common people. That is why he/she thought of making the story of the common people with their help and reaching them. Anvesh is currently on the post of Joint Commissioner in GST, but despite this he/she has proved that if you have the zeal and passion to fulfill your dream, then you can fulfill your dream even with your responsibilities.

When asked about the film The Tale Of Ordinary Lives, Anvesh said, ‘This is a people’s film. We are looking at it like a startup. We would not have been able to make this film without the people. The film will not only be screened at international film festivals, but some private screenings will also be held. It will be shown at the Toronto Film Festival, Busan Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival.’

How did you get inclined towards films? And how did you decide to make your own film? When asked about this, Anvesh said, ‘I trained as a classical Hindustani singer for two-and-a-half years and then did my Bachelors in Performing Arts. My association with films started when I was studying in Lucknow. I used to make short films. I did jingles and advertisements. Then I came to Mumbai and started making small films. After post graduation, I opened my own film firm, where I made commercial and corporate films. Then I joined the civil services in 2013, but music and cinema were going on. I mostly made documentaries for the government.’

‘Shot during holidays and at night’

he/she further said, ‘Then I thought that I should make my own film. But a lot of resources are needed to make a film. Then I started writing the concept, then found some technicians, some friends and then in 2022 I started shooting the film. Everyone’s convenience had to be taken into account. So we mostly shot here and there during holidays. Since this is a common man’s film, so it was completed with the help of people.’

What is the story and cast of the film?

Anvesh told that the story of The Tale Of Ordinary Lives came to mind after seeing common life and common people. he/she said, ‘I had the structure of the script. The dialogues were written, but they were molded according to the situation.’ Then giving a hint of the story of the film, he/she said, ‘Unity in differences and never giving up. This is the theme of this film. There are five characters but the story is one. One is of a cancer patient but he/she is also a filmmaker. The second is of a small child, the third is a transgender and the fourth is of an athlete and boxer and the fifth character is of a composer. The Tale Of Ordinary Lives has actors like Kapil Bhagwat, Aarohi Chatterjee, Yogesh Jadhav and Ashlesha Sundaraman.
