IP University Admission 2025-26 Latest Update: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) has made preparations for the admission process in January 2025 with the new year. This will start with MTech courses. From now on, admissions for M.Tech courses will be held in the January session and a new session will start for the students of these courses in February itself. For this, admissions will be held from 6th to 20th January. Common Entrance Test (CET) exam will be held on 25th January. The session will start on 10th February.

IPU M.Tech Admission: In which courses will you get admission?

Admissions will be held for MTech CSE (Computer Science Engineering), M.Tech IT (Information Technology), MTech ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering), MTech Robotics and Automation, MTech Chemical Engineering, MTech Biotechnology, MTech Food Processing Technology.

IP University Vice Chancellor Prof Mahesh Verma says that admissions for M.Tech are based on the score of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or our own Common Entrance Test (IPU CET). When we can do it in January itself, there is no need to wait till further. Admissions are held for about 40 thousand seats in Delhi Government’s IP University, Dwarka.

Admission in IPU twice a year?

IPU VC Prof Verma says that we are also considering admission twice a year for those courses in which this is possible. This time we have started the admission process for winter session for PhD. Interviews will also start this week. After this, there will be admissions for August-July session also.

Prof. Verma said, currently we do admission for about 80% of our courses on the basis of national entrance tests like JEE, NEET, NATA, UCEED, CAT, CMAT etc. In such a situation, it is a challenge for us to take admission in these courses twice a year. Because these entrance exams happen once a year. For admission twice a year, there should be either two entrances or two admissions on the basis of the same entrance. It is also not clear whether students will get admission for the second time or not. However, we are considering admission twice a year keeping every aspect and infrastructure in mind. We want that students do not have to wait for the whole year for admission.
