IPL: Not Eden Garden… Now this ground can be KKR’s home ground, what did the Cricket Association say?

New Delhi. The international cricket stadium being built in Narsinghgarh, Tripura could be the second home ground of Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2025 IPL season as large-scale renovation work is about to begin at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The construction of Narsinghgarh Stadium started in 2017 which cost Rs 185 crores but the stadium has not been ready yet.

Tripura Cricket Association secretary Subrata Dey told PTI, “IPL president Arun Kumar Dhumal recently visited the stadium. he/she said that if the stadium is ready by February then it can be the second home ground of KKR. We have a golden opportunity to host IPL matches, so we have asked the famous construction agency to complete the work by February 2025.

KKR became champion last year
Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL 2024 title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad. Was on top-2 in the points table. The expectation was for a close contest. But KKR made it the most one-sided final in history. Till now, KKR’s home ground was Eden Garden. But this may change in the coming time.
