IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings’ list stuck in Dhoni’s trap, final date is coming near but…

New Delhi. All 10 franchises have to prepare the retained list of players for IPL 2025 by the end of this month. Most of the franchises have prepared this list but this is not the case with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Chennai Super Kings is waiting for the confirmation from its superstar MS Dhoni whether he/she will play in the next season or not.

If MS Dhoni decides to play in IPL 2025, then Chennai Super Kings will retain him/her as an uncapped player. The last date for submitting the retain list for IPL 2025 is 31st October. Will MS Dhoni be retained? This is not decided yet. According to Cricinfo, CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan says, ‘We want to retain him/her (Dhoni) but we do not have any confirmation from him/her about this yet.’

Let us tell you that this time Chennai Super Kings will not have to officially spend as much money to retain Dhoni as they had to do earlier. The reason for this is the rule of uncapped players. According to this rule, if a player has retired 5 years ago then he/she will be kept in the list of uncapped players. MS Dhoni played his/her last match for India in the World Cup 2019. After this he/she retired from international cricket in August 2020.

MS Dhoni has made Chennai Super Kings the champion of IPL 5 times. he/she has been with this team since the beginning of IPL. Mahi also played for Rising Supergiants in IPL for two years (2016, 2017). This was the time when Chennai Super Kings were banned for two years for spot-fixing.
