IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant upset with Delhi’s defeat, tells where the mistake happened, also plans to return…

Kolkata. Delhi Capitals had to face a crushing defeat in Monday’s match of IPL 2024. Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets with 21 balls remaining. Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant looked very upset with this defeat. He blamed the batsmen for this defeat by KKR and said that his team did not score enough runs.

Delhi Capitals scored 153 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday. Delhi team looked troubled in front of the sharp bowling of Varun Chakraborty (3/16), Harshit Rana (2/28) and Vaibhav Arora (2/29). He lost wickets at regular intervals. At one time its score was 111 runs for 8 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav (35 runs, 26 balls), who came to bat at number nine, took Delhi beyond 150. Apart from him, only Rishabh Pant (27 runs, 20 balls) could cross the 20-run mark.

In response, Kolkata Knight Riders registered an easy victory by scoring 157 runs for three wickets in 16.3 overs, thanks to Phil Salt’s inning of 68 runs in 33 balls with five sixes and seven fours. After this victory, Kolkata Knight Riders have 12 points in the IPL points table. Rajasthan Royals (16) is at number one in the points table. Delhi team is at sixth position with 10 points in 11 matches.

Rishabh Pant said after the match, ‘I think batting first was a good choice but as a batting unit we did not perform well. 150 runs (153 runs) was certainly not a competitive score. But it’s part of the game. We have a long break ahead of us, where we can learn from our mistakes. “Sometimes it’s just not your day,” he said. The way we were progressing was very good. You cannot survive every time in T20 cricket. We scored 40-50 runs less. I think anything between 180 to 210 would have been a good target. The bowlers got a lot of help but as a batting unit we did not give them enough runs.
