INS Arighat: The country’s second nuclear submarine INS Arighat is coming to increase the strength of the Navy, know how dangerous it is

New Delhi : The power of the Indian Navy is going to increase further. On Thursday, the second nuclear submarine INS Arighat will join the Navy. This submarine is capable of carrying nuclear weapons. This step will further strengthen India’s strategic power. This submarine, about 112 meters long, is equipped with K-15 missiles, which can strike up to 750 kilometers. INS Arighat, weighing 6,000 tons, is fully ready after long trials and technological upgrades. This submarine will be inducted into the Navy in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and top national security and military officials at a confidential event in Visakhapatnam.

Along with INS Arihant, now INS Arighat will be stronger with the joining of the Navy. INS Arihant is in full action in 2018. This move will strengthen the country’s ‘nuclear triad’. Nuclear triad means the ability to launch nuclear attack from land, air and sea. According to sources, INS Arighat is similar to INS Arihant in size, length and weight. However, it is capable of carrying more K-15 missiles. The new nuclear submarine is more capable, efficient and stealthy.

Both INS Arihant and INS Arighat are powered by 83 MW light water reactors. The small nuclear reactors inside them give them the ability to stay submerged for months. This is different from conventional submarines, which have to surface every two days to charge their batteries. India’s real strength will be seen when the third SSBN (nuclear-armed nuclear submarine) joins the Navy next year. This 7,000-tonne submarine will be named INS Aridaman.
