Injured Team India is also very dangerous in T20 WC, former English captain warned

London. The Indian cricket team is always considered a contender to win an ICC event. Last year, the team missed out on winning the ODI World Cup final, but now it wants to win the T20 World Cup at any cost. Former England captain Eoin Morgan believes that India’s talent pool and tremendous depth within the team make them strong contenders to win the upcoming T20 World Cup.

India is playing with almost the same team that played in the last T20 World Cup. However, players like young Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal and Sanju Samson have been included in the team. Morgan told ‘Sky Sports’, “Despite the injuries, the Indian team is the strongest in the tournament. Their strength and depth is excellent. They are strong contenders for me, their level on paper. If they do the same on the field, then I think they can easily beat anyone in the tournament.

Due to the abundance of options, India could not include players like Shubman Gill and Lokesh Rahul in the team. Morgan said, “If I was selecting the team, the only decision that would have been different would be that I would have preferred Shubman Gill over Yashasvi Jaiswal. I have played with him/her, I know how he/she thinks. I know how he/she works.

India enters almost every tournament as a strong contender but has not won any International Cricket Council (ICC) title for more than a decade. Team India last won the Champions Trophy in 2013. In the last season of the T20 World Cup, they were defeated by then champions England by 10 wickets in the semi-finals in Adelaide.
