Indian team announced for Emerging Asia Cup, Tilak Verma becomes captain


New Delhi. BCCI has announced the India A team for the Men’s T20 Emerging Team Asia Cup to be held in Oman. The tournament will start from October 18 while the final will be played on October 27. 8 teams are participating in the tournament which includes teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan along with host Oman. Bharat announced the 15-member team late on Saturday night. Tilak Verma has been made the captain of India A team. Young opener Abhishek Sharma has also been included, who was seen struggling with form in the T20 series against Bangladesh.

Abhishek Sharma will play in the Emerging Asia Cup (Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup) for the second consecutive time. Last time India played in this tournament under the captaincy of Yash Dhull where it lost against Pakistan in the final. IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants batsman Ayush Badoni has also got a place in the team, while Chennai Super Kings star Nishant Sandhu and Mumbai Indians big hitter Nehal Badhera along with Ramandeep Singh are also included in the India A team.
