Will Indian students be affected by Trump’s arrival?

Indian students are worried about short student visas and speculations about changes in OPT after completion of the course. Will this affect the admission process of Indian students? In response, Gillen said, “We cannot make any predictions about future policies. As of now, the visa application and admission process is going to remain the same.”

Demand for student visa increased among Indians

Adele Gillen said that students are our priority and America is the number one destination for higher education for Indian students. Due to this, the demand for student visa has increased a lot in the last three years. he/she said that last year we had issued more visas than in 2018, 2019 and 2020 combined. The top four student visa processing posts in the world were in India. 2024 is also going to be a big year for student visas.

The US Embassy official said that the consular team present in India is not resting at all and we are continuously working to improve the visa service. We have expanded our use of remote processing. Applicants seeking visa renewal are getting appointments within a few days.
