Actually, Ukraine and India have been working together in the field of defense for a long time. Earlier, India used to get defense equipment from the Soviet Union. At that time Ukraine was also a part of the Soviet Union, but after the war, Ukraine has now separated itself from the Soviet Union.

Ukraine makes engines for Indian warships

Ukraine has been helping India with defense equipment for many years to make Indian defense systems even better and stronger. Ukrainian company Zorya-Mashproekt provides gas turbine engines to the Indian Navy. With which the Indian Navy’s warships get strength. This engine is very important for Indian warships. In such a situation, to strengthen the Indian Navy, warships need good quality engines. Therefore, this visit of PM Modi is going to be very special. Let us tell you that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky himself had invited PM Modi to visit Ukraine. After which PM Modi is going to Ukraine on 23 August.

Ukrainian company wants to work with India

According to Bloomberg, the Ukrainian company Zorya-Mashproject wants to make gas turbines in India in collaboration with Indian companies. For this, the Ukrainian company is also in talks with Indian companies. If this becomes possible, then with its help India will make itself even stronger in the field of defense. Along with this, doing this will also give a boost to the Indian mission Make in India and India will take another step towards self-reliance.

Indian Navy warships have 136 Ukrainian turbines installed

The Indian Navy currently has 136 Ukrainian-built Zorya turbines. These high-performance turbines have been installed in 10 Veer (Tarantul) class corvettes, 10 Talwar class frigates, 5 Rajput class frigates and Kolkata and Delhi class ships. Each ship usually has four Zorya turbines which give these ships high speed and power.
