Indian legend is helping Sri Lanka to defeat India, has a connection with IPL team, Jayasuriya reveals

New Delhi. Three days before the start of the T20 series between India and Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka’s interim coach Sanath Jayasuriya made a big revelation. Jayasuriya said that IPL team Rajasthan Royals’ High Performance Director Zubin Bharucha has helped his/her batsmen to perform better against India. It is expected that the Sri Lankan team will take advantage of the retirement of star players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20 Internationals after India’s World Cup win last month. The India-Sri Lanka T20 series will begin on July 27. Jayasuriya revealed that a six-day camp was organised with Zubin Bharucha despite some Sri Lankan players being associated with the Lanka Premier (LPL) League.

7 wickets in the first ODI match, this feat happened for the first time in 50 years, who is the pacer who broke Rabada’s record

Sanath Jayasuriya said, ‘We started the camp immediately after the LPL. Most of the players were playing in the LPL. Many of our players were busy. Despite this, we brought Zubin Bharucha from Rajasthan Royals. We worked with him/her for about six days. Other cricketers also joined him/her after playing in the LPL. The players have benefited from this.’ Jayasuriya said that the sessions with Bharucha were very intense and the players learned a lot from him/her.

Former all-rounder Jayasuriya said, “The preparation is good. We have two more days in Kandy before the T20 series starts. It is important for international cricketers to learn new techniques, new approaches and new shots so that they can become effective.”

Associated Press quoted Jayasuriya as saying, “Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the best players in the world. Their absence is a loss for the Indian team and we have to make the most of it.” India has also got a new captain in the form of Suryakumar Yadav for the T20 format. (input language)
