Indian defense wing is expanding from Poland to Djibouti, India has deployed defense attaches at 10 new places for the first time

New Delhi: When Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Poland and came out of the aircraft, among the people standing to welcome him/her was a Brigadier of the Indian Army, Brigadier Satish Trivedi. Brigadier Trivedi went to Poland three months ago as Defense Attache and then after many decades, India’s defense wing was started here. Not only in Poland, but India has started its defense wing and deployed defense attaches at 10 new places in the last few months. According to defense sources, the way China is trying to establish its hold in different countries, it is also important for India to strengthen its defense diplomacy in new places.

10 places are open in defense wing

According to defence sources, India has opened defence wings at 10 new places. It is headed by defence attachés. Defence attachés are military experts who are associated with diplomatic missions in collaboration with the embassy. They advise and monitor military matters. The way almost all countries are increasing their focus on defence diplomacy, the role of defence attachés is also becoming more important. According to defence sources, new defence attachés have been deployed at 7 of these 10 places and at 3 places, people have been sent from other countries where India had a large number of people in its defence missions.

Defense Attache in these countries

These include African countries as well. These include Poland as well as Algeria, Djibouti, Ivory Coast, Spain, Armenia, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Tanzania. Army officers have been sent to four out of 10 places, Navy officers to three places and Air Force officers to three places. According to sources, defense wing has been opened in almost all these places or the process of opening it has been completed.

India has its eyes on China

According to a senior official of the ministry, the way China is increasing its presence everywhere, we also have to tell other countries that we also want better relations with them. Through defense diplomacy, the focus is on programs like joint exercises, training exchange with other countries and through this we also get experts from those places. If there is a need to conduct any operation there in the future, we will also have area experts from there. Along with this, the military industry everywhere is also growing. It is also necessary to learn new technology and new tactics from each other. India is also trying to export indigenous Tejas fighter, rocket launcher system, Brahmos missile, air defense missile system to African countries.
