Indian Army will get indigenous Atags, this artillery gun’s range up to 48 km

New Delhi : The Cabinet Committee on Security has approved the purchase of 155mm Caliber Advance Todd Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) for the Indian Army. It is a indigenous gun system which has been developed by DRDO. The deal of this gun system for the Indian Army is worth about Rs 7000 crore. The deal is 307 havitzer. Its range is up to 48 kilometers. Bharat Forge and Tata Advance Systems will make it. According to the deal, Bharat Forge will make 60 % of the total guns and 40 % gun Tata Advance Systems.

And Indian Army will be powerful

After the Kargil war, steps were taken towards modernizing the army. The artillery of the army was further strengthened and indigenous cannons were also inducted into the army. The Indian Army now also has a 155 mm ultra light howitzer M-777 guns. Its special thing is that it is so light that it can be transported to the high altitude area via helicopter.

Indian Army received 145 cannons from America

India had signed 145 guns with the US and all the guns have been received by the Indian Army. It has also been deployed on LAC in the Eastern sector along with Ladakh. 100 k-9 Vajra has also been included in the Indian Army, Eastern Ladakh was deployed four years ago along with Bofors M-777 Ultra Light Hovitzer and K-9 Vajra. The indigenous gun bow has also been inducted into the Indian Army. Now soon Atags will also increase the power of artillery of the Indian Army.

Rapid work to increase the strength of artillery

The Indian Army is working fast to increase the strength of its artillery. The target is that by the year 2040 all the cannons will be of 155 mm caliber. There are also 105 and 130 mm cannons (artillery guns). More caliber means more deadly. The Russian-Ukraine War has also shown that firepower is a big factor to gain an edge in any war. It has more casualty due to artillery fire.
