Salary of a soldier in the army

According to the Seventh Pay Commission, in the Indian Army, from the government job of a soldier to the Chief of Army Staff, salary is given from Pay Level-2 to 18. The lowest post in the army is that of a soldier. They are given an in-hand monthly salary of 20 to 25,000 rupees. After this, the salary of Las Nayak is 30,000, Nayak is 35,000, Havildar is 40,000, Naib Subedar is 45,000, Subedar is 50,000 and Subedar Major is 65,000 rupees per month.

The officer rank in the army starts from Lieutenant. Lieutenant gets salary ranging from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500 per month. Captain gets salary of Rs 61,300-1,93,900, Major gets salary of Rs 69400- 2,07,200 and Lieutenant Colonel gets salary of Rs 1,21,200 to Rs 2,12,400 per month.

The salary of a Colonel in the Army ranges from Rs 1,30,600-2,15,900. While that of a Brigadier is Rs 1,39,600-2,17,600, that of a Major General is Rs 1,44,200-2,18,200. Apart from this, a Lieutenant General gets a salary of Rs 1,82,200 to Rs 2,24,100 per month. Along with the basic salary, Army officers also get separate salary allowances and facilities.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) gets the highest salary in the army. This is the highest and biggest post in the army. The Army Chief gets a salary of Rs 2,50,000 every month. Apart from this, other allowances and facilities are also given.
