India will raise the issue of infiltration in front of Bangladesh, conversation will also be held on fencing on the border

New Delhi : The tension between the two countries over fencing on the Indo-Bangladesh border is not over yet. Meanwhile, the BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) DG meeting on the 4096 km long border of the two countries is believed to be held in February next month. It will be held on 17-20 February at the BSF headquarters at CGO Complex. This will be the first meeting between DG after the Sheikh Hasina government has changed power in Bangladesh last year. Sources said that if there is no change in the date, then preparations are being made between the two forces according to the schedule so far.

There will be issues such as fencing of the meeting, preventing infiltration, human and other types of smuggling. Among them, India will have a single cry fencing at the five location of the 4096 km long border at the top. 92 places are being installed on this border under the radius of 150 yards. But after Bangladesh expressed strong objections, the work of imposing fencing at three locations including Malda and Dinajpur in Bangladesh has been stopped at the moment.

The solution will be found only by high -level conversation

BSF sources say that the case of fencing will come out of high -level talks between the two countries, but BSF will try to convince the BGB with a copy of the written agreements with the previous government that the matter of imposing fencing There is no violation of any kind of agreement. A case of infiltration from Bangladesh will be raised.

Top officers of both countries will be involved in the meeting

Sources say that in the meeting, BGB’s DG Major General Mohammad Ashraful Islam Siddiqui will come to Delhi, including eight to 10 top offices. From India, IPS officer of 1990 batch UP cadre and DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary of BSF will join along with all his/her other officers. It will also include the top officers of the Ministry of Home and External Affairs of India.

This meeting has been going on since 1975

DG meat between BSF and BGB has been going on since 1975. It used to be once a year from 1975 to 1992. But since 1993 it started happening twice a year. Once it has been happening in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka and once in Delhi. The meeting could not be held in November 2024 after the Sheikh Hasina government’s change of power in Bangladesh last year. But now both countries are agreeing to hold this meeting with the chief of their forces. This time India is the host of the meeting, so BSF has started preparations at its level.
