India sets out on a new journey… PM Modi’s big message to the world from the soil of Nigeria

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that a confident India has set out on a new journey and now the aim is to build a ‘developed India’. he/she also enumerated the achievements of his/her government during the last 10 years. Addressing the Indian diaspora in the Nigerian capital, Modi also said that India has emerged as a new hope for the world by becoming a symbol of development, peace, prosperity and democracy.
Modi started his/her speech with ‘Sannu, Nigeria’, which means ‘Hello Nigeria’. he/she said this is his/her first visit to Nigeria as Prime Minister, but he/she has not come alone. Modi said, ‘I bring with me the fragrance of India’s soil and many good wishes for all of you on behalf of crores of Indians.’ Referring to the achievements of his/her government, Modi said that India has come out of its comfortable position and is creating new paths by doing new things. he/she said that this has become the essence of today’s India.

PM Modi enumerated India’s achievements

Amid slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’, the Prime Minister said, ‘India full of confidence has set out on a new journey today. The goal is clear – to build a developed India. Modi said there are now more than 1.5 lakh registered ‘startups’ in India. “More than 100 unicorns have been created in the last decade,” he/she said. A unicorn means a company with a capital of Rs 8,000-10,000 crore. More than 100 companies are a testament to the success of India’s startup culture. he/she said that India was able to achieve this feat because it came out of its comfortable position.

‘India is the country with the 5th largest economy in the world’

The Prime Minister said that India has added one trillion US dollars to its GDP in the last decade. he/she said, ‘The size of the Indian economy has doubled in 10 years. Today India is the fifth largest economy in the world. The day is not far when India will become a country with a US$ 5 trillion economy and the third largest economy. Modi said the world is praising India for its progress in the space industry. he/she said that India has decided that soon Indians will be sent to space through our own Gaganyaan.

‘…creating new paths has become a habit of India’

The Prime Minister said, ‘India is also going to build its own station in space. It has become a habit in India to get out of the comfortable situation and create new paths. In the last 10 years, 25 crore people have been brought out of poverty. Modi is in Nigeria at the invitation of Nigerian President Tinubu as part of the first leg of the three-nation visit. The visit is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria in 17 years.
