BCCI secretary Jay Shah answered questions about hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup in an interview with the Times of India. he/she said, ‘We have rejected the request of hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup in India, which was made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. We have to host the Women’s ODI World Cup next year. We do not want to give any indication that India wants to host the World Cup continuously.’

Given the current situation in Bangladesh, there are clouds of doubt over hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup. Since then, it was being said that the Women’s T20 World Cup could be held in some other country. The names of India, Sri Lanka and UAE came up for this.
