New Delhi. India has rejected the request to host the Women’s T20 World Cup. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has revealed this. The Women’s T20 World Cup is to be held in Bangladesh in October this year. There is an atmosphere of chaos in Bangladesh these days. After the students’ revolt, even Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to flee the country. Now there is an interim government in Bangladesh.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah answered questions about hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup in an interview with the Times of India. he/she said, ‘We have rejected the request of hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup in India, which was made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. We have to host the Women’s ODI World Cup next year. We do not want to give any indication that India wants to host the World Cup continuously.’

Given the current situation in Bangladesh, there are clouds of doubt over hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup. Since then, it was being said that the Women’s T20 World Cup could be held in some other country. The names of India, Sri Lanka and UAE came up for this. India has the best facilities for cricket and that is why it was being said that it would not need much time for preparation.

If Bangladesh does not host the Women’s T20 World Cup, then this tournament will be held in Sri Lanka or UAE. Sri Lanka receives rainfall in October. For this reason, UAE can be considered. Recently, Sri Lanka hosted the Women’s T20 Asia Cup. This tournament was considered a part of the preparation for the Women’s T20 World Cup.
