Kathmandu: The Chinese conspiracy to turn Nepal against India seems to be failing. Despite border disputes and recent skirmishes, the armies of India and Nepal are going to conduct joint military exercises. A total of 650 soldiers from India and Nepal will participate in this military exercise. Earlier, during the tenure of KP Sharma Oli, China had put a lot of pressure on Nepal. Due to the influence of China, Oli released the disputed map of Nepal, in which Indian territories were included. Later, after the change of power, the Sher Bahadur Deuba government improved relations with India.
16th event of Suryakiran military exerciseThe name of the military exercise between the Indian and Nepalese army is Surya Kiran. The objective of this exercise is to further strengthen the friendly relations between the armies of the two countries. This is the 16th edition of the Surya Kiran military exercise. An Indian Army contingent reached Nepal on Wednesday to take part in a military exercise. The exercise will take place at Saljhandi in Roopnadehi near the Indo-Nepal border.
Team of Indian soldiers reached Nepal
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu tweeted on Wednesday that an Indian Army contingent reached Saljhandi in Nepal today to participate in the 16th Indo-Nepal military exercise ‘Surya Kiran’. The exercise is a paradigm shift in sharing of professional experiences and strengthening of friendship between the armies of the two countries. Earlier, the 15th edition of this exercise was organized at Pithoragarh in which 650 soldiers from both the countries participated.
Nepal has honored the Indian Army Chief
Indian Army Chief Manoj Pandey had visited Nepal last September. During this visit, General Pandey was honored by President Bidya Devi Bhandari by conferring the honorary title of General of the Nepalese Army. There is a 1850 km long border between Nepal and India which passes through Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
