India and China have again agreed on patrolling. This information was given by the Indian Foreign Ministry. The special thing is that this important development has happened just before the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia for the 16th BRICS summit. The BRICS meeting in Russia is scheduled for October 22-23.

Agreed after several weeks of discussion

On the agreement regarding patrolling on LAC, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that as a result of the discussions held over the last several weeks, an agreement has been reached on the patrolling arrangement on the Line of Actual Control in the India-China border area. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that this is resolving the issues that arose in these areas in 2020. Under the agreement, the armies of both the countries will return to their old places in Depsang and Demchok. Along with this, after disengagement, the way for patrolling in the buffer zone has also been cleared.

Diplomatic, military discussions continue with China

Asked about a possible bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, the External Affairs Ministry official said diplomatic and military discussions have been going on between India and China in recent weeks. We are still coordinating timing and details for any bilateral meeting. There is a border dispute between India and China since 2020. There was tension on the border between the two countries after China changed the status quo on the border. There was a clash between Chinese and Indian soldiers in Galwan. After this, the deployment of troops on LAC was increased from both the countries.
