India and Pakistan included in the same group amid Champions Trophy controversy


New Delhi. The Indian cricket team will not tour Pakistan to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy. BCCI has told ICC that due to security reasons its team will not tour Pakistan. The Indian team wants to play all its matches outside Pakistan but the PCB does not accept this. PCB is now appealing to ICC. Meanwhile, the teams of arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group for the inaugural season of the Women’s Under-19 Asia Cup. The Asian Cricket Council announced the schedule of this tournament on Wednesday.

The six-team tournament will be held in Malaysia, in which there will be two groups of three teams each. Group A includes India, Pakistan and Nepal, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and hosts Malaysia. All the matches of the competition will be held at Beaumas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

India and Pakistan will face each other on December 15
The tournament will start on December 15 with the match between hosts Malaysia and Sri Lanka. India will face Pakistan in the second match on the same day. Next day, Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh, followed by Pakistan against Nepal. The last round match of the group stage will be held on 17th December. On this day Bangladesh will face Malaysia, after that India will face Nepal.

The final will be played on 22 December
The top two teams from each group will advance to the ‘Super Four Round’ to be held on 19 and 20 December, while the fifth/sixth place play-off will take place on 18 December. The top two teams of ‘Super Four’ will reach the final on 22 December.
