Ind w vs Ire w: Indian women’s team defeated Ireland by 6 wickets in the first ODI. The Irish team, which came to bat first, had given India a target of 239 runs. Team India won in just 34.3 overs.

Indian women’s team defeated Ireland by 7 wickets in the first ODI.

New Delhi. Team India registered a spectacular victory in the first ODI match played between the Indian women’s team and the team of Ireland (IND W vs IRE W). India won this match by 6 wickets. Ireland won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved costly for them. Pratika Rawal played a brilliant inning of 89 runs for India. Whereas, captain Smriti Mandhana scored 40 runs.

When the Irish team came to bat first, Team India’s Titas Sadhu gave the first success to India. She got Sara Forbes (09) caught out by Deepti Sharma in the slip cordon. Orla Prendergast scored 09 but wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh stumped her on the ball of leg spinner Priya Mishra and in the 14th over the score was 56 runs for three wickets.

However, on the basis of captain Gabby Lewis’ brilliant innings of 92 runs and her 117-run partnership with Leah Paul (59 runs), Ireland set a respectable score of 238 runs against the Indian team in the first ODI. During this period he/she lost 7 wickets. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Ireland was in trouble after losing four wickets for 56 runs in the 14th over but with the help of a century partnership for the fifth wicket with Lewis (129 balls, 15 fours) and Leah, the team managed to score a good score.

Now it was Team India’s turn to chase. India won as soon as the ball was in hand. Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal came to open for India. Mandhana scored 40 runs. She missed the half-century. While Pratika played a strong inning of 89 runs. At the same time, Harleen Deol, who came at number three, was out after scoring 20 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues, who came at number four, was out after scoring 9 runs. In the end, Richa Ghosh gave victory to Team India by scoring 8 runs in 2 balls.

Tejal Hasbanis also played a brilliant inning of 53 runs and contributed significantly to Team India’s victory. India has thus taken a 1-0 lead in the ODI series. The second ODI between India and Ireland will be played on 12 January. This match will be held in Rajkot. If Team India wins there then India will win the series.
