IND vs SL: Indian team came on the field wearing black bands against Sri Lanka, Rohit is captaining


New Delhi. The ODI series between India and Sri Lanka has started. The first match of the series is being played in Colombo. In this match, Indian cricketers have come out wearing black bands on their arms. Indian cricketers have done this to pay tribute to Anshuman Gaekwad, who died on Wednesday night.

Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are making a comeback in Team India from the India-Sri Lanka ODI series. Both these cricketers had retired from this format after the T20 World Cup. India played two T20 series after the T20 World Cup. Shubman Gill captained against Zimbabwe while Suryakumar Yadav took charge against Sri Lanka. Now Rohit Sharma is once again the captain in the ODI series.

In the first match of the ODI series against India, Sri Lankan captain Charith Aslanka won the toss and decided to bat first. After this, when the Indian team came out to bat, the players had bandages tied on their arms. Before cricket lovers could speculate about this, the BCCI informed on the social media platform X that the Indian players have tied black bands in memory of Anshuman Gaikwad and to pay tribute to him/her.
