IND Vs ENG: England’s batsmen are making a splash but Team India has the X factor

New Delhi. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is in its final stage. With Afghanistan’s thrilling 8-run win over Bangladesh, the semi-final lineup of the tournament has been decided. India and Afghanistan from Group 1 and South Africa and England from Group 2 have made it to the last 4. In the first semi-final, ‘Giant Killer’ Afghanistan will face South Africa (Afghanistan Vs South Africa) on June 27, while on the same day, India will face England (India Vs England) in the second semi-final.

Talking about Team India, it is facing England in the semi-finals of the second consecutive T20 World Cup. In the 2022 semi-finals also, both the teams had a match, then the Indian team had to face a crushing defeat of 10 wickets. This time the Rohit Sharma brigade will have a chance to avenge the previous defeat. In the T20 World Cup, both the teams have come face to face 4 times so far and both have won twice each. While the Indian team won in 2007 and 2012, the England team was dominant in 2009 and 2022. This time too the match is likely to be tough, but Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav with lethal-economical bowling and Hardik Pandya with all-round performance can prove to be the X factor for Team India. By the way, England also has a good all-rounder in the form of Sam Curran, but he/she has not been able to make a special impact in bowling. Captain Rohit Sharma’s explosive innings against Australia would have definitely put pressure on the England camp.

England won this Lord’s match by 3 runs. After this, in the 2012 World Cup in Colombo, the Indian team defeated England by a huge margin of 90 runs, while in the semi-final held in Adelaide in 2022, England embarrassed Team India by winning by 10 wickets.

All the bowlers of the current Indian team have an empty ‘account’ against England
