Who got the Player of the Match award?

New Delhi. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India registered a spectacular victory by 7 wickets in the first T20 of the five-match series between India and England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday. Opener Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant half-century in this match with a strike rate of 232 and made a special contribution to India’s victory. However, despite this he/she was not given the Player of the Match award.

After the match, the Player of the Match award was given to Varun Chakraborty. Who took 3 wickets in the match. Varun had dismissed Harry Brook (17) and Liam Livingston (0) in the same over. In this way England had lost 4 wickets. Apart from this, he/she also took the wicket of Jos Buttler who proved to be dangerous. Butler was out after scoring 68 runs.

After becoming the player of the match, Varun Chakraborty said, “I am used to seeing such pitches in IPL. I know this is for seamers, but I know there is a certain length that is helpful for me. I was trying to keep the ball away from his/her arc, which proved to be somewhat effective for me. It is challenging to bowl every over in Eden.”

Varun further said, “It is definitely challenging to bowl to batsmen like Jos and others. The last over was very difficult and challenging, but by the grace of God I was successful. I realized that I couldn’t beat batsmen with side-spin. “I’m still at 7 out of 10, still have more work to do.”
