IND Vs BAN Test: India caught Bangladesh, guests are in danger of follow-on, what decision will the ‘Rohit Brigade’ take

New Delhi. India has cornered Bangladesh in the first test match. In the match being played in Chennai, India first scored a huge score of 376 runs. After this, Bangladesh lost 8 wickets within 112 runs. At the time of tea break on the second day, Bangladesh’s score was 112 runs for 8 wickets. The visiting team is now facing the threat of follow-on.

After the tea break on the second day of the India-Bangladesh Test match, the most discussed topic was whether the host team would enforce a follow-on if given the chance. Bangladesh has to score at least 177 runs to avoid the follow-on. Looking at the condition of the Bangladeshi batsmen, it does not seem at all that they will be able to do so. Now only a miracle can take Bangladesh to 177 runs.

If we talk about the trend, then in the last 20-25 years, there have been only a few occasions when a team has given a follow-on to the opposing team. In the Chennai Test match too, the Indian team will do this only when it has a lead of at least 250 runs. It is also possible that it may not give a follow-on despite such a lead. One reason for this could also be the weather of Chennai.

During the tea break, Parthiv Patel talked about the possibility of giving a follow on on Sports18 channel. he/she said, ‘I don’t think the Indian team will give a follow on to Bangladesh. One reason for this is the heat here. The Indian team would not want to send its bowlers back on the field immediately. Instead, it would want to give rest to its bowlers.’

Parthiv Patel said that captain Rohit Sharma would like his/her batsmen to bat again and score first. After this, the bowlers should be given a chance. This will give rest to the bowlers. India may not have bowled much in this match but the team management will take a decision keeping the entire season in mind. India has to play a lot of test matches this season. Therefore, the bowlers will be given rest.
