IND vs AUS Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s golden duck, Mitchell Starc made world record on the very first ball

New Delhi. India vs Australia Pink Ball Test has got off to a great start. Australia has expressed its intentions by taking a wicket on the first ball of the match. Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on his/her very first ball. With this, the golden duck was added to the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played an inning of 161 runs in the last match.

The Indian team is batting first after winning the toss in the second test match being played in Adelaide. Captain Rohit Sharma has returned to the team, but he/she will bat in the middle-order. Indian batting was started by Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. Yashasvi faced the first ball of the match. This ball of Starc was exactly the same for which the Australian pacer is known. Mitchell Starc’s ball came out for the left-handed batsman after being pitched. By the time Yashasvi brought the bat in line with the ball, it had already hit the pad. Yashasvi was caught in front of the wicket and he/she too was sure that he/she was out. That is why he/she did not even take DRS.

Wicket on first ball for the third time in career
With this, Mitchell Starc has equaled the world record of taking most wickets on the first ball. Starc has taken a wicket on the very first ball of the match for the third time in his/her Test career. Before him/her, only Pedro Collins of West Indies could do this feat.

Kapil has taken wicket on the first ball twice.
India’s Kapil Dev has also taken wicket twice on his/her very first ball in his/her Test career. Apart from Kapil, Richard Hadlee, Geoff Arnold and Suranga Lakmal have also taken wickets twice on the first ball of the Test match.
