IND vs AUS: Not an Australian but an Indian legend got the ‘Player of the Series’ award

New Delhi. The Indian team definitely lost the Test series against Australia (India vs Australia) but the Player of the Series award was not given to any Australian player but to Indian legend Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah was selected as Player of the Series for his/her amazing performance in the series.

Jasprit Bumrah was named the Player of the Series of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 after taking 32 wickets in the five-match series. he/she bowled brilliantly in the series and took more than 30 wickets. Bumrah also took command of Team India in 2 matches for India. Rohit Sharma was not available in the first match. For this reason Bumrah took the captaincy. At the same time, Rohit had kept himself out of the fifth test. After which Bumrah had to take command again.

Bumrah equaled the record for most wickets taken by any bowler in the India vs Australia Test series. Harbhajan Singh took 32 wickets in his/her name during Australia’s tour of India in 2000-01. Bumrah has equaled him/her with this.

Let us tell you that during the Sydney Test, Bumrah bowled only 10 overs before leaving the field due to back spasm and did not return. After the match he/she said, “Disappointing, you have to respect your body. You have to accept that you have to move forward.”
