IND vs AUS: ‘he/she single-handedly leveled the series…’ For whom did Ravi Shastri say this?

New Delhi. Former coach Ravi Shastri described India as a contender for victory in the Boxing Day Test match starting on Thursday (26 December) and said that India has so far taken full advantage of Australia’s top-order weakness. Shastri told News.com.au, “At the current stage of the series, I think India is on the lead. If any foreign team is tied at 1-1 after playing in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, then it can take inspiration from this. It is a good situation for India to have the series tied before the Boxing Day Test. I believe that India can take the field with its chest wide.”

Shastri said, “I currently see Australia’s top order as weak. India has taken advantage of this and will take advantage of it in future also. The series is currently tied and Jasprit Bumrah has, in a way, single-handedly taken India to this position.”

Let us tell you that Australia’s top order which includes Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne. It looked weak in front of Bumrah. This was the reason why Australia was forced to drop McSweeney and give a debut opportunity to young opener Sam Konstas.
