Pat Cummins made his/her debut in Test cricket in 2011, but played his/her first Test match against India in 2017. Australia has not won a Test series against India since 2014-15.

When Cummins was asked whether he/she was under pressure to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he/she said, ‘I don’t think there is any kind of pressure on us. We are playing on our home ground and want to perform well. We know that the Indian team is very strong and we have lost the last three series to them. he/she said, ‘This series is very important, but we do not want to focus on old results. Whenever we have faced India in the summer session, we have always tried to perform well.

Cummins did not want to compare the Ashes with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but he/she described the match against the Indian team as the closest in the last few years. he/she said, ‘I think this has been the closest match. The Ashes have a rich history, but the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has also been a very difficult series as I have seen in recent times. (input language)
