What is the punishment rate in such cases? Who are the criminals who commit crimes like rape and how can they be identified?

Who are rapists and what is the identity of such rapists?

According to a 2001 study by Vitale and Newman, people who have psychopathic personality traits may be attractive in appearance. They are irresponsible, fearless and ruthless. Such people can go to any extent to establish a relationship with the victim. They put pressure on him/her. They even commit crimes like rape.

Predator personality is very dangerous, understand this

According to Advocate Shivaji Shukla in Delhi, people who commit crimes like rape and murder have predatory personality. According to criminology, such people consider the girl a victim and themselves the hunter. They are usually good looking and blend in so well among the common people that they are not easily recognized. However, their personality is bipolar. They ambush and track their prey in the dark. After getting the opportunity and satisfying their lust, they kill him/her. This is a type of paraphilia personality. From the graphic given below, let us understand which types of paraphilias are more dangerous. Actually, there are more than 500 types of paraphilias.

paraphilia

Predator type people get a triggering event.

Advocate Shivaji Shukla, who deals with crime cases, says that predator type criminals do not work alone. They also involve their family or friends in this work. Create a network for crime. Any criminal, if he/she is alone, commits a crime when he/she receives a triggering event. That means he/she gets such an opportunity. Because the mentality of such people is of criminal nature.

Rapists are brutes with bistophilia

Paraphilia is a psychological disorder due to which the person suffering from it lives in sexual frustration. Among these, there are some in whom ‘Sexual Masochism Disorder’ i.e. a disorder like taking pleasure in torturing others is found. Such a person regularly watches pornography and sexual content on mobile and commits crimes like rape. This disorder is also called ‘bystophilia’. People suffering from paraphilia disorder do not even know that they are suffering from such a mental disorder. It is like cancer, which is detected only in the last stage.

Crime Pattern Theory explains the mentality of the criminal

According to crime pattern theory, no crime is random. It is either planned or circumstantial. According to this theory, a crime occurs when the activities of the victim and the criminal coincide at a particular location. A person’s activity space includes the spaces of everyday life. Such as home, workplace, school, market, shopping complex etc. When a person passes through a deserted path to reach these places, it is called nodes.

People with predator personality hunt their prey by ambushing them. They first choose easy prey and then do recce of them. These can be anywhere around us. There is a need to remain alert. There are many who are so mixed in that the common man cannot even recognize them.

When the hunter goes out in search of his/her prey

Canadian environmental criminologists Pat and Paul Brantingham proposed the crime pattern theory between 1981 and 1993. According to this, any criminal first searches for a motive in his/her daily life. They commit crimes within about 1 or 2 miles of home. For this, he/she often chooses the time and place of the crime. According to crime pattern theory, a crime will occur only when an area provides opportunities for crime and this must be in the area where the criminal commits the crime. For example, in the vicinity of a shopping mall or a market, the chances of car theft and incidents of purse snatching, pickpocketing and chain snatching are highest, because there are ample opportunities for such crimes in that area.

Dark spots boost the morale of criminals

According to Shivaji Shukla, dark spots are those areas where crime is most likely to occur. These are also called crime hotspots. Police identify such dark spots in every police station area. With the help of researchers and analysts, its map is made and such areas are identified where the scope for crime is highest. Going to such places is inviting danger. Passing through such deserted areas or turns or culverts is not free from danger.
