Eurostat has released a new data, which tells what the salaries of people in different countries of Europe were in 2023. According to this, the average salary of people in the European Union was 37,863 euros. In Indian rupees it is Rs 33.50 lakh.

Which are the countries with the highest salaries in Europe?

According to Eurostat data, the lowest salaries are being received in Bulgaria, where the average annual income of people is 13,503 euros (about Rs 12 lakh). The country paying the highest salary is Luxembourg. The average annual salary of people here is 81,064 euros (about Rs 72 lakh). Apart from Luxembourg, the adjusted average salary in five other countries also remained more than 50,000 euros (about Rs 44 lakh). These countries are: Denmark, Ireland, Belgium, Austria and Germany.

Salaries in Finland, Sweden and France are also higher than the European Union average. A total of nine countries had wages above the European Union average. On the other hand, salaries in 17 countries were lower than the European Union average. Among the countries with the lowest salaries, Bulgaria is followed by Hungary (16,895 euros), Greece (17,013 euros), Romania (17,739 euros), Poland (18,054 euros) and Slovakia (19,001 euros). The average annual salary in all these countries is less than 20,000 euros. The annual salary in Italy and Spain is around 32,500 euros, which is lower than the EU average.
