Ravana did not stop at Mandodari’s behest

When Ravana kidnapped Sita and brought her to Lanka, Mandodari tried to stop him/her from doing so. She explained that kidnapping a woman of another person like this was against religion. Despite this, Ravana did not listen and took Mandodari’s words lightly. The result was that Hanuman came to Lanka as Ram’s messenger. he/she not only found Sita but also burnt the golden Lanka.

Raavan was punished for not following his/her advice

After Hanuman returned from Lanka, Mandodari put her spies all over Lanka. Then the people of Lanka started talking about different things. Everyone was saying that the one whose messenger came and killed so many demons alone, burnt Lanka. If he/she himself comes here to fight, then who will save us.

On knowing the fear of the people, she again explained to Ravana that it is not right to be hostile towards Ram, it is good for Lanka to return Sita. But Ravana did not pay any attention to Mandodari’s words, out of arrogance he/she said that you are afraid before a good deed is done. In the end Ravana was killed after fighting with Ram.
