In Paris, Bureau du Tibet organizes Tibet Awareness Day for young Tibetans




One of the offices of the official representation of the 14th Dalai Lama, Bureau du Tibet in Paris on Saturday organized a successful Tibet Awareness Day under the guidance of Rigzin Chedon Jenkhang.

According to information from the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the program collected 33 enthusiastic young Tibetans from various educational backgrounds. The goal was to help them better understand Tibetan reasons, history and ongoing China-Tibet struggle.

The day began in Paris with a informative presentation by Bureau du Tibet coordinator Thupent Tursing. Using a wide powerpoint, Tsering explained its important role in advocating the structure of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and the freedom of Tibet and preserving the Tibetan identity. According to CTA, he/she emphasized the importance of the younger generation as to how the CTA operates, as it represents the interests of Tibet on the global stage.

As stated by CTA, one of the most emotional moments was not ‘A Liberation the Never: 70 years of capture and Daman’ in Tibet, a powerful documentary produced by Tibet Television (TTV).

The film shows that Tibetans have faced harsh realities under Chinese occupation, including cultural destruction and human rights violations. The footage shifted many people in the audience, who expressed feelings of sorrow and anger. According to CTA report, screening highlighted the need for a global awareness campaign to face conflicts in Tibet.

The CTA also mentioned that the engagement of young Tibetans in the event showed its strong commitment for the future of Tibet. Many participants thanked the opportunity to know about their legacy and the ongoing fight for freedom. he/she also called for more such events to build unity and knowledge in the Tibetan community.

The issue of China-Tibetan revolves around Tibet’s struggle for autonomy and protection of its cultural identity under Chinese rule. Since the Chinese invasion in 1950, Tibetans faced suppression, loss of political freedom and cultural destruction. The Tibetans led by the Dalai Lama continued to search for a peaceful solution through international advocacy for Tibet’s rights.
