In high risk pregnancy, doctor can advise to get operation done, not a single question should be asked


Pregnancy is different for everyone. For some, nine months of pregnancy pass smoothly, while some women face some problems during this period. There are some women who have high pregnancy such that they are at risk of any complication. In this type of pregnancy, the doctor and the woman need to take great precautions.

Gynecologist Dr. Nandita Palshetkar has shared a video on Instagram and explained what are the options for delivery in high risk pregnancy and how the baby is taken out during this time.

Women who already have lupus, diabetes, high BP, fibroids, HIV, kidney disease, obesity, depression, PCOS, thyroid are more at risk of high risk pregnancy.

clevelandclinicAccording to this, there is some risk in every pregnancy. High risk pregnancy means that the pregnant woman or the fetus or both are at high risk of some health risk. This type of pregnancy requires more medical care before and after delivery. This can prevent the occurrence and growth of complications.

The doctor said that in some situations it happens that the mother is not able to go through the process of labor or the condition of the baby is not such that it can go through the process of labor. These also come under high risk condition. Doctor Nandita said that if you have a high risk pregnancy and the doctor has asked you to have a cesarean, then you should not question his/her decision.

The doctor said that there are many problems in high risk pregnancy such as the mother’s blood pressure being very high, the size of the baby being small or the baby being unable to go through the delivery process. These are some of the conditions which come under high risk condition. In these, the doctor has to choose the option of cesarean for delivery.

If you are having stomach pain that is not getting better, chest pain, dizziness, extreme tiredness, fetus moving less or has stopped moving, vomiting. Or if you are experiencing excessive nausea, severe headache, swelling, redness or pain in the face and hands and feet, or thoughts of self-harm, then you should consult a doctor. These symptoms should not be ignored in both high risk pregnancy and normal pregnancy.
