In Bollywood’s sequel movies, the hero is the same, but the heroine is new! In this growing trend, new actresses will shine

In search of a hit, Bollywood is making one sequel after another. But the special thing is that in these films, the heroes are old, but new actresses will be seen as heroines. Here is a report investigating this trend:

In the current times, the filmmakers are facing a shortage of new stories for their upcoming films. This is the reason why they have adopted the formula of sequel films in the desire to make a superhit film. In the past few years, many sequel films have been released, while work is going on on many sequel films, which will be released in the coming days. The special thing is that while the heroes in all these sequel films are old, new faces are being tried as heroines. This is the reason why you will see new heroines in all the sequel films that are going to be released in the coming days. Next month, on Diwali, there is going to be a clash between two big Bollywood films ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. The special thing is that both of these are sequel films. Although both these films have old heroes, new actresses will be seen as heroines. For example, last time Kiara Advani was seen in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. Whereas, this time Tripti Dimri and Madhuri Dixit are in the film. Apart from this, Vidya Balan is also going to make her entry in this film from her first film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’.

On the other hand, Deepika Padukone is going to enter as a female cop in ‘Singham Again’. Director Rohit Shetty has introduced a female police officer in this police universe of his/her male stars. Talking about Ajay Devgan’s two upcoming sequel films, he/she will be seen opposite new heroines in them too. Vaani Kapoor will be seen opposite Ajay in the film ‘Raid 2’ to be released next year. Whereas in the previous film, Ileana D’Cruz was opposite him/her. At the same time, the shooting of ‘Son of Sardar 2’ has also started. You saw Sonakshi Sinha in the previous film. But this time the producers have signed Mrinal Thakur as the female lead.

There will be new actresses in many films

In Ayushmann Khurrana’s film ‘Dream Girl 2’ released last year, the makers had signed Ananya Pandey instead of Nusrat Bharucha. However, Ananya got mixed reviews in the film. In the sequel of Akshay Kumar’s superhit ‘Welcome’ franchise, ‘Welcome 3’, this time new heroines Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez have got a chance. Whereas Katrina Kaif and Shruti Haasan have appeared in the previous films of this franchise.

There could be a new actress in ‘Krrish 4’ too!

Apart from these films, work is going on on many sequel films in Bollywood. For example, there is a discussion of taking a new heroine in Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 4’. Director Madhur Bhandarkar is also planning a sequel to his/her superhit Fashion. Experts believe that Madhur can also bet on a new cast. Film world experts also agree with the trend of signing new heroines in sequel films.

Because of this new heroines are getting a chance

Producer and film business analyst Girish Johar says, ‘Whenever producers announce a sequel of a film, they sign an old actor for the recall value of the film, who is also the face of the film. But when it comes to actresses, many factors come into play. Sometimes the heroine of the prequel of the film has left the industry after marriage, and sometimes she is not available. Anyway, nowadays producers are making sequels of very old films as well. At times, producers want to give a chance to new heroines. This is the reason why new heroines are seen in most sequel films.’
