Important news for Indians going to study and work in Britain, new visa rules will be applicable from January

UK Visa Rules: There is important news for Indians who are planning to study in Britain next year i.e. in 2025 or are looking for a job. Now you will have to spend more money to go to Britain. The reason for this is that from the new year the British government has increased the monthly expenditure limit for student and work visas. From January 2025, those going from India to Britain to study or work will now have to show 11 percent more money in their account as savings than before.
This change has been made by the British government so that the impact of immigration on housing and economy can be reduced. At present, a large number of foreigners are studying in Britain, while there are also a large number of working people. There are more than one lakh Indian students in Britain, who are studying in the top universities here. The new rules have been updated on the British Government website. It explains what conditions have to be fulfilled for student and work visas.

What are the new conditions for students in Britain?

From January 2, students seeking visas to study in Britain will have to prove that they have enough money to live. To study in London, the student should have 1,483 pounds (about Rs 1.5 lakh) every month in his/her account. For studying in cities outside London, this amount is 1,136 pounds (about Rs 1.2 lakh).

In this way, to study a one-year master’s program in London, you will have to save money equal to 9 months’ expenses, which is a total of 13,347 pounds (approximately Rs 14 lakh). The required savings amount for a master’s program in a city outside London is £ 10,224 (approximately Rs 11 lakh). This money should remain in your account for at least 28 days before applying for the visa.

What are the conditions for skilled workers?

People applying for the Skilled Worker Visa for the first time will have to show an annual income of at least 38,700 pounds (about Rs 41 lakh). This should include accommodation and house rent. They will also have to obtain sponsorship from a UK company approved by the Home Office. If any company has not sponsored you then you will have to show this amount in your account for 28 days before applying for the visa.

Increase in visa application fees

Fees for many types of visas including tourist, family, spouse, child and student visas will increase slightly. However, the disabled, caregivers and healthcare workers, military and people with certain special talents will be exempted from this.
