‘If you play cricket, no one will marry you’, parents should learn from Mandhana’s parents, raised their daughter by fighting with the society.


In India, cricket is a game which people like very much and now even girls have started playing cricket. However, the society has still not accepted girls playing cricket. People believe that the game of cricket is not for girls but there are some players of our country who have proved this wrong. The first name in this list is Smriti Mandhana.

It was not easy for Smriti to become a cricketer and she had to face many difficulties to reach here. In an interview, Smriti had told that people used to taunt her parents that if she continued playing cricket, then no one would marry her.

Smriti, who came as a guest on Kaun Banega Crorepati, was asked by Amitabh Bachchan about her journey so far. On this Smriti said that both her father and brother were into cricket since childhood. he/she said that his/her father’s dream was that both his/her children should play cricket or at least one should play for India.

Smriti said that she probably used to practice cricket in her mother’s womb. he/she has seen his/her father playing cricket. She plays with a straight hand but her brother plays with the opposite hand and she has taken training from her brother to play with the opposite hand. She used to stand behind the net and watch it and it was from here that she started playing cricket.

Smriti told that when she started playing women’s cricket, she had to practice mostly with boys because not many girls played cricket at that time. She gives credit for her success to her parents. he/she did not let any such problem dominate his/her memory and gave him/her complete freedom.

On this matter, Amitabh Bachchan also praised Smriti’s parents and said that these are modern thoughts where parents do not consider their daughters less than sons and give them equal sky and opportunity to fly. Women should also get equal opportunities as men.

Like Smriti’s parents, many parents want their children to fulfill their unfulfilled dreams. However, not every child has the same memory and interest as his/her parents. he/she wants to do something different and in this situation the child should not be forced.
