The dosage recommended by doctors is as follows:

If women are below 50 years of age then they should consume 1000 mg calcium daily. If women are above 50 then they should consume 1200 mg calcium daily. If the age of men is less than 70 then they should consume 1000 mg calcium daily and if the age is more than 70 then they should consume 1200 mg calcium daily.

This condition is called hypercalcemia where a person has more calcium than necessary in his/her blood. This increases the risk of heart diseases and also increases the risk of kidney failure. Apart from this, constipation, nausea, frequent urination and fatigue etc. can also be some of its symptoms.
