Eat a clean, healthy, nutritious and balanced diet. This improves the quality of egg and sperm. Include green leafy vegetables, whole grains, pulses, legumes, berries, eggs, milk, yogurt, tomatoes, bananas etc. in your diet.

The doctor told that it is very important to drink adequate amount of water for the ovaries to function properly. You should stay away from processed and packaged foods and beverages. Also avoid consuming excessive amounts of sugar. Do not take more than one or two cups of caffeine a day.

Weight can be kept under control by doing daily exercise and with the help of a balanced diet. You can include walking, jogging and yoga etc. in your routine.

Getting good sleep provides energy to the organs and helps in many metabolic processes of the body. Couples going for IVF are asked to take seven to eight hours of sleep. For good sleep, do not eat anything two to three hours before sleeping and do not consume caffeine four to six hours before. In case of stress, you can take bath with cold water, sing songs, do light yoga and meditate.

Folic acid and vitamin D, two important nutrients, play an important role in women’s reproductive health. To get pregnant, you should start taking these supplements two to three months in advance. Any supplement should be taken only after consulting a doctor.
